Wormegay Parish Council - Consulation

 We are pleased to announce that the results of the

 Wormegay Play Park consultation are now in.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to complete the consultation and share their views, ideas and suggestions. Your feedback has been extremely valuable in helping Wormegay Parish Council understand what local residents, children and families would like to see from a new play area for the village.

With the consultation now completed, 

Wormegay Parish Council is moving forward with the next stage of the project.

Our aim is to develop a safe, enjoyable and inclusive play area that will provide a valuable facility for children and families in Wormegay and be an asset for the whole community.

However, delivering a new play park will require significant fundraising, planning, organisation and community support.

To help move the project forward, the Parish Council is looking to establish a

 Wormegay Play Park Working Group, 

made up of Parish Councillors and volunteers from within the village.

The Working Group will work alongside the Parish Council to assist with areas such as:

• Fundraising and identifying potential grant opportunities
• Approaching local businesses and organisations for support
• Developing fundraising events and community activities
• Helping to investigate suitable play equipment and designs
• Supporting community engagement and communication
• Assisting with project planning and development
• Helping to promote the project within the village
• Identifying opportunities for donations, sponsorship and practical assistance

The Parish Council will remain responsible for the formal decisions and governance of the project, with the Working Group providing additional community support, ideas and practical assistance.

You don't need to be a Councillor or have previous experience of project management or fundraising.

We are looking for people from across the village who are willing to give some of their time, skills, ideas or enthusiasm to help make the project happen.

Whether you can offer a few hours occasionally, help with fundraising, have experience in grant applications, project management, building, design, marketing or simply want to support the project, we would love to hear from you.

A new play park is an exciting opportunity for Wormegay and future generations of children.

The Parish Council cannot do this alone.

 With the support of local residents, volunteers, businesses and community organisations, we hope to turn the results of the consultation into a reality.
